How answers improve
The search improves. The law does not get edited.
Questions are logged and replayed against each rebuilt index, so we can see where retrieval failed to find a provision that was there all along. What that changes is the search: the vocabulary bridging trade language to statutory language, the ranking, and the list of documents still to index.
It never edits legislation. Nothing automated can write to the corpus, and no retrieval change ships without a person approving it. Regressions are reported next to improvements, because a loop that only counts its wins will drift.
What the loop may propose
- New trade-to-statute vocabulary bridges
- Subject-tag aliases
- Ranking weight adjustments
- Documents missing from the corpus
- Sources whose currency has gone stale
- Offering to split a multi-part question
What it can never do
- Alter the text of a section
- Add or remove a section
- Change a citation or a source URL
- Raise a confidence score or lift a cap
This is structural, not a rule someone has to remember: the question log and the proposal queue have no write path to the corpus at all.
